The Landfill and Compost Facility is located near Ryley, AB, a short commute from the east side of Edmonton and we are expanding with a Waste Transfer Station in West Edmonton.

We are searching for a **Transfer Station Supervisor **for our new 152nd St Transfer Sation at Claystone Waste. The site is based in Edmonton, AB.
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The Transfer Station Supervisor will report to the Director of Facilities. The Transfer Station Supervisor is accountable for the safe, effective and efficient performance of assigned personnel and equipment required in the operation of the CWL Transfer Station. This position supervises Transfer Station attendants, operators, and labourers in the operation of the 152nd Street Transfer Station in accordance with the CWL budget, plans and policies, and all other applicable legislation. This position coordinates the transfer of received materials, manages diversion targets, identifies material off-take markets, and works with the sales department to enhance CWL business opportunities.

- overseeing the safe, environmentally sound, efficient, and financially prudent operations as well as coordinating maintenance of the transfer station;
- Hiring, scheduling, direction and supervision, development, and discipline of staff in his/her assigned operations in accordance with the CWL budget, plans and policies;
- Procurement of operating expense supplies, tools and equipment, and services necessary for the execution of his/her assigned operations in accordance with purchasing procedures and designated spending authority limits;
- Preparation of operating and capital budget requirements, complete equipment research, and continue to enhance operations through industry technological advances that optimize safety and efficiency;
- Identify material off-take markets and coordinate off-take material generation at the transfer station;
- Support the business and sales department by participating in customer interaction, business development, sales development, sales support, and customer service;
- Coordinate in-house and third party repairs and preventative maintenance on all facilities and corresponding equipment;
- Coordinate off-site transportation to recycling, processing, and disposal facilities;
- Create and review with applicable colleagues all facility standard operating procedures, policies, and programs to ensure the safe and efficient operation of all transfer stations;
**WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE**
Ideally The Transfer Stations Supervisor will possess:
- Post-secondary diploma in construction or manufacturing technology, environmental sciences, business operations or a similar field with relevance to operating environmental facilities and systems with a significant equipment maintenance component. Preferably, significant operational experience managing regional solid waste collection and transportation systems, including highway trucking operations;
- Minimum 8 years practical knowledge in the effective and efficient operation and maintenance of the collection and transfer trucks, and heavy equipment required to operate solid waste collection and transport systems.
