Under the leadership of our dedicated Medical Director, Dr. Harry Cozens, and our inspiring Hospital Director, Robyn Luscombe, Mountainside 24/7 Animal Emergency is thriving and evolving. In February 2025, we will expand into the specialty field with the addition of Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Ewan Wolff. To support this exciting new chapter, we are seeking a full-time Veterinary Assistant (VA) to join our growing Internal Medicine department.

**About the Job**:
As a Veterinary Assistant in our brand-new Internal Medicine service, you'll play a vital role in overseeing appointments, collaborating with other team members, and actively participating in patient assessment, diagnostics, and treatments. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, including digital radiology, endoscopy and ultrasound.
Excitingly, this is a **brand-new service** and department at Mountainside, created to support the addition of a talented new internist to our team. You'll have the unique opportunity to help shape and establish this department, contributing to its success from the very beginning.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Manage appointments and clients in collaboration with the Internal Medicine team.
- Assist with patient assessment, diagnostics, and treatments.
- Assist with the processing of laboratory samples.
- Monitor patients during procedure and recovery.
- Ensure all equipment is in working order for procedures.
- Maintain the cleanliness of exam and treatment rooms.
- Assist with client communication including call backs, check ins, prescription refills and paperwork as able.
- Assist with estimates and chart preparation as able.
**Schedule**:
- Full-time with 4 x 10hr shifts per week
**Compensation**:
- $19.00-$24.00 per hour based on skillset and previous experience
**About You**:
- You are a confident and skilled Veterinary Assistant (VA).
- You possess outstanding interpersonal and communication skills aimed at establishing long-lasting, positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and the community.
- You are able to work well independently and in a team environment, leading by example and holding yourself accountable for quality medicine and customer service.
- You exhibit flexibility, dependability, responsibility, and possess excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
- You understand the importance of maintaining a positive, respectful, uplifting hospital culture and genuinely love working with people who share that same value.
