**Position Overview**:As a Life Enrichment Aide, you will play a vital role in facilitating recreational activities and programs for our clients. Your primary responsibility will be to facilitate fun and engaging activities, promoting socialization, physical activity, and mental stimulation for older adults. You will work under the guidance of a Recreation Therapist who will create individualized program plans for each client. Our goal is to enrich the lives of our clients by creating meaningful connections and engaging activities. The position will include driving to various clients' homes. **Please note, this role will be servicing Ottawa and surrounding areas, including Navan and Carp. Reliable transportation will be required.**

**Key Responsibilities**:
**Activity Planning and Execution**: Collaborate with the Recreation Therapist to plan to follow the individualized program plan and implement the outlined activities.

**Participant Engagement**: Interact with participants in a friendly and inclusive manner, encouraging them to actively participate in recreational programs. Foster a positive and supportive atmosphere that promotes socialization and builds a sense of comfort and support for our clients.

**Safety and Supervision**: Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during activities, taking appropriate measures to prevent accidents and handle emergencies if they arise. Maintain a safe and clean environment for all recreational sessions.

**Assistance to Participants**: Provide individual support and assistance to participants who may require additional help to engage in activities due to physical or cognitive limitations.

**Documentation**: Maintain accurate records of participation, client feedback, and activity outcomes. Assist in preparing reports and assessments on the effectiveness of various programs.

**Qualifications**:

- Fluency in English is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or training in recreational therapy or a related field are beneficial but not always required.
- Previous experience in organizing and leading recreational activities, either professionally or through volunteer work is required.
- A passion for working with people of diverse backgrounds and abilities, and the ability to adapt activities to accommodate individual needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with clients.
- Empathy, patience, and a positive attitude to create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for clients.
- Experience working with individuals with Dementia and other conditions

**Working Conditions**:Our Services are provided in the client's home. This may include, retirement homes, Long-term care homes, or within the community. Applicants should be prepared to drive to and from various client homes. Part-time/casual to start, with additional hours in the future.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour
