**Kingston General Manager Job Description**

Bennetts began in 1926 in the beautiful community of Trent Hills, Ontario. Now doing business out of three large state-of-the-art showrooms, Bennetts has successfully modernized its products and services while staying true to its small-town roots of being community-minded and people-oriented.

We are looking for someone who shares our passion for working with people, crafting beautiful spaces and creating an exceptional customer experience. Someone who is results-oriented, committed to training and development and leads by example. The General Manager will oversee all functions involved in the Kingston location including the Front Office department (reception), in-store shuttle and delivery personnel and particularly the sales team.
- Position includes competitive compensation commensurate with a c-level executive of a mid-sized company (and benefits), paid sick time and is part of the Senior Leadership Team
- Ongoing training and development within a growing company including option to attend international buying show(s)
- Some travel required to Peterborough, especially during initial training
- Full-time, permanent, working Tuesday - Saturday 8:30am - 5:30pm (Flexibility offered for weekends off)

**Job Requirements**
- Must have a minimum of 5 years management experience and 10 years working experience
- Must have experience in at least one of the following:

- Sales or a related position
- Management of a retail store
- Management of a business unit or department (not industry specific)
- The furniture industry (or a related industry)
- Management of sales people
- Ability to decorate would be considered an asset
- Strong ability to prioritize
- Sense of urgency specifically regarding customer service follow-up
- Post-secondary education not required but would be considered an asset
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills

**Responsibilities**:

- Initial and ongoing training and development of Decorator Sales Consultants
- Monthly scheduling with consideration for specialty events such as shows and promotions
- Problem solving and managing escalated customer service issues
- Ensuring a high level of employee morale and engagement
- Driving results in a growing location and maintaining position as Kingston’s favourite store for furniture, mattresses, Interior Design and décor
