Position: Team Leader, Machine Shop

Status: Full-time, permanent

Location: Baie-d’Urfé, QC

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8h30 - 16h30

Founded in 1980, SCP SCIENCE is a successful privately-owned manufacturer and distributor of certified analytical equipment, supplies, reagents and certified reference materials for the inorganic analytical laboratories market.

The company has grown substantially in recent years through internal and contracted manufacturing, acquisition, and expansion of its sales distribution network around the world. Currently the company staff numbers 170 people and is continually growing.

**Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and lead a team of electromechanical technicians;
- Delegate daily individual tasks to each team member and follow-up until completed;
- Responsible for the on-time completion of instruments and jobs;
- Estimate the time to complete tasks by team members and advise on production scheduling;
- Complete Job Material Pick List Reports and other production documents as required;
- Close jobs at system as they are done.
- Identify obsolete parts. Advise the production Planner and Purchasing to correct the SL
- Perform training and set an example to new employees;
- Participate in weekly work review meetings with the Instrument Manufacturing Manager
- Report all team and production issues to the Manager (work performance, quality etc.)
- Work in the assembly of instruments and soldering of parts as required;
- Propose improvements in product reliability, manufacturing efficiency and quality.
- Other tasks, as required.

**Requirements**:

- Demonstrated team leading / team management skills;
- Familiar with production process and associated documentation;
- Understanding of best practices and product quality objectives;
- Ability to find solutions to functional problems;
- Manual dexterity is very important;
- Open to new ideas to work.
- Fluency with both Imperial and Metric measurements systems;
- Attention to detail, good organizational skills;
- Able to work independently, as well as in a team environment;
- A diploma in Electro Mechanics and/or work experience is required;
- Knowledge and experience in the use of MS Office suite.
- Very good knowledge of English and French is required.
