Asado is a Mobile Catering company that brings custom hospitality to your backyard. Using our production facility and our Mobile wood fired smokers, our Asado team is capable of catering to all different types of events. From Weddings, birthdays, backyard gatherings, corporate events, and team building events. We travel up to 2hrs away from HRM with our catering teams to offer outstanding hospitality. Our Unique wood-fired inspiration is the concept behind our menus. We are looking for skilled catering Chefs to join our team

**Responsibilities**:

- Reading and understanding event orders to build prep requirements for daily events.
- Assessing Event orders to determine necessary food requirements and assisting with organizing food orders in time for preparation and execution of each event
- Planning prep lists for multiple events throughout each day and week
- executing prep according to Asado recipes and standards in a timely, organized and efficient manner
- Adhering to food safety and health and safety requirements at all times
- communicating effectively with team members to ensure deadlines are met for upcoming events.
- Packing required equipment and food in a planned and organized fashion to ensure complete execution of even specific to clients request
- transporting staff / Team to and from events safely, working in a professional manner together to adhere to Asado's Hospitality standard
- Proper and efficient tear down and re-packing from each event. Cleaning and restoring equipment for future use
- On-site cooking with live fire, preparing food according to Asado specs and ensuring delivery of high quality product
- Maintaining and replenishing buffets according to clients event orders
- communicating and liaising with clients on site. Planning even set up and tear down in a professional manner
- providing a positive and inclusive work environment for team members to create positive energy in order to promote seamless hospitality experiences

**Qualifications**:
We are looking for culinary focused individuals to join our growing catering team. Minimum 3 years cooking experience in fast paced environment (must have)
- Valid Drivers Licence
- Experience driving truck and trailer (asset)
- Experience working with life fire and BBQ techniques
- Passion for food, culinary team building and hospitality
- Degree in culinary arts post secondary program (asset)
- Experience in fast paced service environment
- Excellent personal skills
- Strong Organizational and time management abilities.
- Food Safety Certification
- Ability to work as a team
- maintaining a positive attitude with team members and clients
- strong problem solving and communication skills
- intermediate knife skills
- enhanced knowledge of ingredients, local food trends, and technical methods of preparation
- ability to work long periods on your feet
- physical endurance (lifting, pushing, bending)
- strong awareness, ability to read clients needs and perceive potential hazards, timing scenarios and job setbacks.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 5 months

**Salary**: $17.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 per week
