KinderSprout Playschool Ltd. is looking for a Casual Early Childhood Educator (level 2 or 3) to be available as a substitute on days when regular staff are ill/unable to work.

We are looking for someone who has:

- A flexible schedule and plenty of availability
- A strong Biblical foundation
- Extraordinary levels of patience
- Tons of energy
- A love of play
- The ability to get on the child’s level (repeated bending, lots of movement)
- Experience with children
- A genuine love for children
- The ability to exemplify the fruits of the spirit in the workplace and outside the workplace
- The ability to remain even-tempered and calm when dealing with challenging behaviours
- The ability to easily build relationships
- The ability to multitask
- The ability to work in a team setting
- The ability to see and respond to needs
- The ability to supervise a large group of children

Duties Include:

- Working one on one and in large group settings with young children
- Caring for the various needs of each child
- Engaging in active supervision to create the safest possible environment
- Following lesson plans
- Creating and facilitating activities/crafts/lessons
- Maintaining a clean facility
- Communicating with KinderSprout team and parents
- Following all KinderSprout policies

**Requirements**:

- ECE Level 2 or 3
- Valid criminal record check with vulnerable sector (dated within the last 6 months)
- Valid First Aid certification

Pay:

- Base pay to be discussed based on experience and education (approximately $17/hour)
- Government of Alberta Wage Top-up offered on top of hourly rate (varies depending on ECE level)

KinderSprout Playschool currently does not offer dental, vision, or other health benefits.

Start Date: As soon as possible

End Date: N/A

Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday - Friday

Closed:

- Statutory holidays
- Christmas break (according to the public school calendar)

Pay: $22.05-$26.62 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 40 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Red Deer, AB T4N 5A4: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (required)

Licence/Certification:

- Early Childhood Educator Certificate, Level 2 or 3 (required)
