**Summary of Position**:
The Team Leader is a member of the interdisciplinary team which oversees the day-to-day program operations of Petmier Care Inc. The Team Leader provides direct support to youth and front-line staff and assists in the direction and support of program philosophies. The Team Leader provides supervision and evaluation to front-line staff members, volunteers, and practicum students. Must be able to work a variety of days, evenings, and weekends.

**Daily Routine/Responsibilities**
- Development of a trusting and therapeutic relationship with clients;
- Teaching living skills and social skills through role modeling of appropriate behavior and able to assess client deficits and strengths and use systematic plans of instruction, teaching methods, and approaches to transfer information and skill to clients;
- Assist clients with the development and maintenance of problem-solving skills;
- Activity planning that involves clients in groups that meet their recreational, educational, and or therapeutic needs;
- Care of the program environment and clients including meal preparation, grocery shopping, staff meetings, recreational activities, documentation, etc.;
- Monthly documentation related to clients including service planning, expenses, etc.;
- Providing guidance and support to front-line staff members;
- Orientation and training of new employees;
- Over-sight of day-to-day service delivery;
- Counselling skills that utilize problem-solving, de-escalation, goal-setting and preventative interventions with clients in either a 1:1 or group scenario;
- Administrative and file maintenance;
- Mitigation of overall program related (including facilities, employees and clients) risk as per the Risk Management Plan;
- Remain within the “Scope of Practice” of Child and Youth Care Counselors;
- Providing all clients with a sense of safety, acceptance, and nurturance;
- Other duties that management may see fit.

**Required Experience and Qualifications**
- Human services degree or diploma (ie. Social Worker, Child, and Youth Care, etc.);
- Three years related front-line and/or supervisory experience;
- Current criminal (with vulnerable sector search) record check (6 months or newer);
- Current intervention record check (6 months or newer);
- Driver’s license and own reliable transportation (driver abstract that is 6 months or newer);
- Standard First Aid & CPR training;
- Medication Administration training;
- Must be available to work between the hours of 7am-11pm;
- Strong interpersonal skills that bridge the distance with individuals that may have a resistance to relationships, different morals/values, and alternative lifestyle choices;
- Must be flexible and adaptable to a variety of situations and children/youth/staff needs;
- Non-judgemental manner;
- Strong personal boundaries;
- Demonstrates good writing and communication skills;
- Experience in working with diverse cultural and religious communities;
- Understanding of Client-Centered Theory, the Circle of Courage model, Trauma-Informed Approached and Milieu Based Therapy philosophies of services/intervention;
- Knowledge and understanding of the Indigenous culture, beliefs, and traditions

**Salary**: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
