Security Systems Technician

**Position Overview**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Install, configure, and maintain CCTV cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with clients and project managers to understand their security and home automation needs, and propose suitable solutions.
- Perform on-site assessments to determine optimal system placements, wiring requirements, and networking setups.
- Install and integrate networking equipment to ensure reliable communication between security and automation devices.
- Program and configure home automation systems such as Control4, RTI, or URC to provide seamless control of audio, video, lighting, HVAC, and security systems.
- Conduct thorough testing of all installed systems to ensure functionality, performance, and compliance with client expectations.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues related to security and automation systems, utilizing a combination of technical expertise and problem-solving skills.
- Provide comprehensive technical support to clients, addressing their inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technological advancements in security systems, home automation, and networking.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all installation, configuration, and troubleshooting activities.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience working with CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
- Proven expertise in networking protocols, IP configuration, and network troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in programming and configuring home automation systems such as Control4, RTI, or URC.
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring and installation best practices.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes.
- G licence with clean record.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with clients, team members, and project managers.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Relevant certifications in security systems, networking, or home automation.
- Experience working with both residential and commercial clients.
- Knowledge of integrated security solutions that incorporate multiple systems.
**Salary**: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
