**Position**:Transportation Manager

**Job Type**: Full Time

**Language Requirements: English (required) and French** **(Desired)**

**Schedule**:Monday to Friday

**Working Conditions**:On-Site

**Location**:Concord, ON and Montreal, QC

**Annual Salary**: $90,000 - $102,000

**Purpose**:
Responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing all Transportation functions to ensure that customer service is performed safely, on time, and in accordance with specifications. Coordinates closely with customers and area personnel to obtain information, identify needs, and investigate and resolve problems.

Seeks to continuously improve service and operating efficiencies and meets the proper regulatory and compliance requirements. Ensures that the Company's professional reputation is maintained, and that superior customer service is provided. Schedules, assigns, supervises, and appraises personnel. A member of the HACCP team and responsible for food safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assumes responsibility for assisting in the development and implementation of effective Transportation planning, budgeting, policies, and procedures.
- Executes established goals and ensures that Transportation policies support and complement Company strategies, mission, vision, and values.
- Ensures that excellent, professional communications are maintained with customers. Ensures that all customers' expectations are met or exceeded.
- Ensures on-time delivery of products or services.
- Plans equipment and determines rental requirements and maintenance needs. Implements and maintains operation of computerized on-board and navigation systems.
- Assumes responsibility for ensuring that Transportation operations meet or exceed safety and regulatory standards. Maintains safety records for all drivers.
- Ensures that personnel understand and implement safety and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Effectively schedules, supervises, and directs Transportation personnel, ensuring excellent customer service and optimal performance.
- Provides leadership through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Maintains a good information flow. Ensures personnel are timely and thoroughly informed. Conducts meetings to inform, train, and seek solutions for identified problems.
- Ensures employees understand Company policies and procedures and the importance of customer service.
- Identifies training needs and develops and implements programs to meet them. Follows-up on employee training (e.g., customer service, equipment, and safety training) to ensure effective implementation. Cross -trains employees.
- Promotes teamwork. Encourages employee involvement, suggestions, and problem solving.
- Conducts performance appraisals as required. Provides feedback and suggestions to improve employee performance. Works with employees to establish performance goals. Formulates and implements corrective actions as needed and ensures that all employees are treated fairly and consistently. Corrects employee problems promptly.
- Keeps management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
- Ensures HACCP and Safe Quality Foods (SQF) policies and procedures are understood and followed by associates in facility.
- Adhere to prescribed routing and support route optimization by using data to evaluate all routes at minimum 1x/year.
- Responsible for managing driver teams in both unionized and non-unionized environments and is required to adhere to the CBA.
- Responsible for managing the cross dock facility in Saint-Laurent/Montreal, QC and includes all lease obligations, sanitation, R&M, etc.
- Participates as a member of the HACCP Team.
- Performs other job duties as required.

**Additional Requirements**:

- Travel between Concord and Montreal required.
- Performs a variety of shifts and/or days of work may be required on occasion.
- Some work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment and some work may be performed in warehouse locations with temperatures ranging from ambient to below zero. Some work may also be performed while on the road with drivers where a variety of weather conditions may be encountered.
- Required to travel with drivers in a straight truck or tractor as part of training exercise or driver evaluation.

**Qualifications**:
**Education**:

- Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related discipline.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3-5 years experience in multiple stop dispatch operation.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience Transportation Supervision and/or Transportation Management experience.
