**We are seeking a passionate Electromechanical Technician in Whitby, Ontario to join our village.**

**What we need**

Reporting to the Manager, Technical Services, the **Electro-mechanical Technician** is responsible for ensuring the proper operation, maintenance and upkeep of equipment and machinery related to building mechanics.

**What you’ll do**
- Maintain order in mechanical and electrical rooms, workshops, warehouses, and other areas of the department;
- Carry out various repairs; electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing;
- Ensures the availability of replacement parts, chemicals and other products;
- Carry out the required calibration, adjustment, modification and programming of the various controls;
- Ensure the proper functioning of building systems through regularly scheduled inspections;
- Ensure the monitoring and computerized follow-up of the operating conditions of the various electro-mechanical systems;
- Provide recommendations regarding various major or minor work;
- Operate Building Automation system and Automated lighting systems;
- Assist and work along side electrical and mechanical contractors
- Perform other related duties as required to support the team.

**Profile needed**

**What is the profile needed in order to be successful in this position**
- College diploma in industrial maintenance technology or electro-mechanics;
- Minimum two (2) years of practical experience in various electrical, plumbing and industrial mechanical repairs;
- Good organizational and prioritization skills; strong attention to detail;
- Ability to collaborate effectively within the team and with other departments;
- Sense of challenge, perseverance, autonomy;
- Ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders;
- Good tolerance to stress;
- Ability to be on your feet and moving around all day; ability to work in a noisy, hot and/or cold environment including steam rooms and saunas;
- Independent learner and ability to self direct;
- Comfortable working on ladders and with power tools
- Safety oriented

**When**

You will work a varying schedule, 40 hours weekly (to include days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
