**Job Function Overview - Sandblaster**

The Sandblaster is responsible for the sandblasting and prep activities related to preparing dump bodies and parts for paint. The Sandblaster reports to the Paint Supervisor and plays a key role in assisting the Paint department to meet it's goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Blasts surfaces of dump bodies and parts.
- Loads blast media into machine hopper.
- Masks specified areas of object to protect from blasting action.
- Assist in the prepping of dump bodies and parts (ex. sanding or scraping) prior to being painted
- Operates valves on equipment to regulate pressure and composition of blast mixture flowing through nozzle
- Manually directs nozzle and controls flow of blast over surface of trailers or parts to achieve desired result
- Examines finished work to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety
- Produce quality work safely and efficiently
- Other duties as assigned

**Requirements**:

- Attention to detail
- Very good hand/eye coordination
- Physically capable of: standing for extended periods of time, working in awkward positions and climbing
- Must have safety shoes/boots and reliable transportation
- Forklift experience an asset
