Saskatoon, Canada Western Ag Systems Full time

Western Ag Systems is a leading provider of livestock and grain handling/milling equipment, supplies and service to the Saskatchewan Agricultural community. We are currently looking for an **Agricultural** **Advisor** based in **Saskatchewan** who will report to the Saskatoon, SK office.

The **Agricultural Advisor** is responsible for providing technical expertise and support to farmers, understanding their needs, expectations and goals, and seeking to help optimize their farming operations.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing guidance to the farmer on how to optimize their farming operations
- Training and coaching farmers in the software programs and day-to-day routines required for their farming systems to run effectively
- Guiding farmers on how to monitor and improve farm performance based on performance reports
- Building long-term relationships and meeting regularly with farmers to provide continued coaching on day-to-day routines, personnel management, cow health, feed, robot performance, T4C/Inherd use, and coordinating milk quality needs
- Initiating, coordinating, and facilitating in-house farm management training courses and study/peer group meetings for farmers and other key stakeholders
- Supporting and assisting sales representatives during the sales and barn design processes
- Identifying sales opportunities among customers and forwarding them to the appropriate sales representatives; promoting Western Ag products and services

**Skills Required**:

- Education relating to Agriculture is preferred along with 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Knowledge and experience in farm management, including feeding, health and reproduction
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; open and proactive in your approach to customers
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Strong analytical and advisory skills
- Strong Communication skills (verbal and written) with ability to present to small and larger farmer groups
- Willingness to flex hours as needed to assist customers
- Proficiency in operating and explaining internet-based software solutions (i.e. TeamViewer, Excel, Word, Outlook, T4C, etc.).
