Fiber Optic/osp Telecommunications Technician

Sabtronics is currently seeking a Dedicated and Skilled Fiber Telecommunications Technician to join our dynamic team. As a Fiber Telecommunications Technician at Sabtronics, you will play a crucial role in the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting our Clients Fiber Telecommunication Network. **Key Responsibilities**:
**1.** **Installation and Maintenance**: Perform installation, configuration, and maintenance of ISP & OSP Fiber Telecommunication Systems and Equipment to ensure optimal performance.

**2.** **Troubleshooting**: Diagnose and resolve technical issues promptly, ensuring mínimal downtime and disruption to Client services.

**3.** **Quality Assurance**: Adhere to the highest standards of quality in all aspects of work, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company policies.

**4.** **Health and Safety**: Prioritize and follow health and safety protocols, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.

**Key Qualifications**:

- **Experience**: Broad knowledge of Fiber Optics as a Fiber Telecommunications Technician or in a similar role. Knowledge of Fiber Telecommunications Systems, Equipment, and Protocols, including ISP and OSP in both Residential and Commercial developments.
- **Outside Plant Installations**: Specializes in the installation of Fiber Optic Cable and Equipment, both Aerial and Underground.
- **Site Map Interpretation**: A comprehensive understanding of site maps and splice documents, is essential. This involves interpreting detailed diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to identify key elements such as existing infrastructure, cable routes, termination points, and equipment locations.
- **Equipment Handling**: Utilize expertise in working with OTDR's, Power Meters, Coax/Cable Meters, setting up Nodes and Amps, and Resetting Amps as part of the installation process.
- **Confined Space Work**: Demonstrate proficiency in working in challenging environments such as manholes and confined spaces.
- **Electrical Understanding**: Possess knowledge of AC and DC Power systems to ensure seamless integration with telecommunication installations.
- **Copper/Fiber Optic Placement**: Execute precise Underground and Aerial placements of both Copper and Fiber Optic cables.
- **Strand Placement and Cable Lashing**: Demonstrate skill in Aerial Strand Placement and Aerial Cable Lashing.
- **Bucket Trucks/Vans**: Operate and maintain proficiency in the use of Bucket Trucks and Bucket Vans for elevated installations.
- **Working at Heights**: Comfortable with Ladder work and Mobile Elevated Platforms.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Very physical job which includes climbing and working off of ladders, lifting, and not only working outdoors in varying weather conditions, but also indoors within Business and Commercial settings.

**Driver's License and Clean Record**:

- Must have a valid driver’s license
- Clean driving record.
