**Description**
Our Client is seeking a Senior Database Analyst to build, maintain and performance tune production databases to deliver databases with appropriate levels of data availability and performance. This role is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database procedures and standards. Projects include: Reviewing and consolidating SQL Server licensing costs or reducing licensing costs in the long term; Implementing Database monitoring for the vast majority of a database environment; and Creating new reporting and\or reporting options to highlight and elevate critical database issues to management.
Work must be done from within Canada during regular business hours, due to network and data security issues. Must be Canadian Citizen to apply. Resource will work remotely, though must be available for onsite meetings up to 3-4 times per month.

**Experience Required/Mandatory Skills**
- Proposed resource must agree to a Criminal Records Check and Enhanced Security Clearance including a credit check prior to commencement.
- DBA experience within a large and complex environment. (8+ years)
- University degree or diploma in computer science, plus 6 years relevant experience,
- Experience and technical knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server. (2+ years)
- Experience as a SQL Infrastructure DBA (Backups, replication, installation, configuration). (4+ years)
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or higher. (8+ years)
- Experience with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services. (4+ years)
- Experience with SQL Server High Availability Groups. (4+ years)
- Experience working with querying data with Microsoft Transact-SQL Server. (6+ years)
**Nice To Have Skills**
- Experience with Amazon Web Services databases. (1+ year)
- Experience with Azure SQL. (1+ year)
- Experience with migrating on-premise databases to Azure or AWS. (1+ year)
- Experience with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, CosmosDB, etc. (1+ year)
- Experience with PowerBI querying Azure SQL. (1+ year)
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services. (1+ year)
- Experience with SQL Server replication. (4+ years)
- Experience with troubleshooting performance issues within SQL Server 2016 or higher. (2+ years)
- Experience working in a multi-tenancy environment where developers do not have access to secured environments like User Acceptance Test or Production. (4+ years)
- Experience working with Oracle 19c or higher. (1+ year)
