**Construction Demand Coordinator - Telecommunications**

We deliver a complete turnkey experience for both commercial and residential clients, from our in-house engineering and design, permitting, locates to the complete installation of your underground and aerial infrastructure. Finally, we can finish the “final mile’ with complete in-home installation and activation of your customers. Post installation, we offer preventative network maintenance (PNM), scheduled service calls and critical outage services 24/7.
Solo Cable is currently seeking a **Construction Demand Coordinator** to join our operations in **Southwestern Ontario **for a **permanent, full-time **position.
Hours of work will be 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday and work will be centred out of our Powerline Road location

**Essential Qualifications**:
Experienced in Operations coordination including:
- Knowledgeable with construction project planning with the ability to read designs and determine equipment, materials, parts, vehicles and supplies needed
- Inventory management and planning; vendor relationships, experienced pricing comparison and negotiating
- Ability to rally teams to maintain work schedules
- Previous experience working in construction and maintenance of telecommunications an asset
- 3-years Supervisory/Leadership skills and experience; Timely and effective communicator
- Excellent problem-solving skills and on-the-spot decision making; resilient in overcoming obstacles
- Yard and Shop maintenance and organization
- Time management skills and able to work with tight deadlines and quick demands
- Mechanically inclined with basic math skills
- Good business sense, a forward thinker with a willingness to learn, cross train and develop the position
- Understands the value of customers and contracts and strives to meet expectations
- AZ/DZ License an asset but not required
**Responsibilities**:
- Coordinate and confirm upcoming work with the COO and design team and ensure availability of required materials, parts and supplies; review/monitor project progress
- Expedite the flow of vehicles and materials by ensuring on-time dispatching of crews; as needed motivate, coach, organize and direct teams; Ensure efficiencies of man hours; Direct crew members when issues arise
- Establish Demand schedules and procedures; Plan, organize and oversee logistics; Resolve work-related issues, prepare and submit progress and other reports and co-ordinate activities with other work units or departments
- Effectively manage requisitioning, distribution, receipt, storing, and maintaining inventories of materials, parts and supplies and supporting records and documentation; process purchasing transactions;
- Assess deficiencies in inventory regularly and take corrective action when needed to ensure all materials and supplies are available without impacting project timelines and safe to use
- Work with vendors to negotiate best price and delivery; Manage warranty issues with appropriate follow up
- In partnership with the Mechanic, uphold an organized, safe and well-maintained yard and shop
- Advise teams and field workers as required how to maintain yard and shop organization
- Complete a range of physically demanding tasks including by not limited to handling and distributing materials, parts, supplies and heavy equipment
- Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by following and enforcing Company standards and procedures, complying with Federal regulations
- As this is a new role, there is room for development of this position in cooperation with management
**Requirements**:
- Criminal Background Check
- Must have a valid Ontario Drivers License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract to be insurable
- Must be eligible to work in Canada
- Language: fluent in English
- Must provide own Steel Toed Safety boots and work pants
