The Building Operator/Janitor will be responsible for maintaining of the indoor and outdoor facilities. He or she will ensure that all facilities are cleaned and maintained at a level of high quality. The Building Operator will need to understand the operations of a sports facility, as well as a general knowledge of building maintenance systems.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $16.83 to $20.19.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure washrooms and change room facilities are cleaned daily.
- Clean around the fields, as well as emptying garbage bins regularly.
- Maintain, line, and groom soccer fields and tennis courts on a regular basis.
- Maintain the schedule of programs and leagues by performing effective program transitions.
- Set up & take down of equipment for rentals, leagues, and special events.
- Liaise with clients, team coaches and referees, addressing queries, concerns or complaints.
- Monitor the safety of all activities and programs and respond to any safety concerns.
- Provide support for special events as required.
- Liaise with bookings and other appropriate departments to ensure the smooth delivery of rentals.
- Other general maintenance and cleaning duties as required

Qualifications:

- Ability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to operate machinery such as a gator and riding lawn mower
- Previous experience in an operations, janitorial, or recreation capacity is an asset.
- Standard first aid/CPR/AED training is considered an asset
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to prepare routine administrative paper work.
- Ability to routinely lift heavy equipment (50 lbs).
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects.
