**JOB SUMMARY**:
We are looking for someone who is looking for casual work/part-time 10 hours a week. Saturdays (10-3 pm) and Sundays (10-3 pm). Training will be provided before working on your own during the week.
We seek a personable Activity worker who will assist and support our residents with mental illness. Creative and resourceful person who can independently teach and provide our residents with daily living skills while ensuring a safe work environment.Responsibilities include organizing monthly activities; such as cooking classes, painting, etc. This individual will also accompany our residents on outings using our company vehicle.
Preference will be given to applicants who have previous experience working with the mentally disabled or have an equivalent combination of training and education.
A valid class 5 driver's license is required and CPR certification is preferred. You must be able to pass a criminal records and abuse registry check. You must also have excellent English verbal and written communication skills. Most importantly, you are a team player with a positive friendly attitude.
Friends Housing Inc. is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing safe, affordable and supportive housing for persons who have a chronic mental illness and for low-income families within our community. This job provides support for the residents with a mental illness.
