**Job Summary**
The Accounting Manager is responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, and maintaining a strong control environment. This role includes ensuring the accuracy of financial data, supporting ERP system administration, and collaborating closely with departments to facilitate cost control and strategic decision-making. The Accounting Manager will also assist with budgeting and forecasting, support external audits.

**Key Responsibilities**
- ** Financial Reporting**
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes for the Canadian business unit, ensuring accurate and timely completion of all journal entries, reconciliations, and working papers.
- Prepare and review financial statements, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Controller to assist with consolidation and with senior management to provide financial insights and analysis for decision-making.
- ** Cost Analysis and Reporting**
- Perform cost analysis to track, monitor, and report on key cost drivers, providing insights to support cost management initiatives.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs against budgeted amounts, identifying opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Prepare regular cost reports for management review, offering recommendations based on trends and data.
- ** ERP System Management**
- Support ERP system administration, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of financial data.
- Work with other departments to optimize ERP functionality, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data integrity in cost reporting and financial statements.
- Assist with implementing system updates or enhancements to support improved financial reporting and data tracking.
- ** Budgeting and Forecasting**
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities, providing cost data and analysis to support financial planning.
- Partner with the Corporate Controller and department heads to refine budgets and develop accurate cost forecasts.
- Support the preparation of financial projections and budget-to-actual analysis, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. CPA/CMA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in budgeting, cost analysis, financial planning, or a related financial control role.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modeling; familiarity with ERP systems.
- Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information in an understandable way to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying cost-saving opportunities and mitigating financial risks.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis
