**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Spiritual Care Associate plays an integral role in supporting the well-being of residents, clients, families, and staff within St. Joseph’s Care Group’s long-term care homes. This role is dedicated to providing compassionate spiritual and religious care that respects diverse needs and traditions.

The Spiritual Care Associate will:

- Introduce and promote spiritual care services to residents, clients, and families
- Complete spiritual care assessments for newly admitted residents
- Collaborate as part of the interdisciplinary care team in providing holistic care
- Offer support, counseling, and therapeutic interventions for residents, families, visitors, staff, and volunteers, as requested or when needs emerge

This role requires a strong sense of vocational identity, substantial experience, and versatile competencies to provide meaningful support, particularly for those facing grief, loss, or life transitions.

**WHAT YOU BRING**

Education/Experience:

- Certification with CAPPE advanced level preferred
- Faith community endorsement
- Experience in health care ministry particularly working with geriatric and rehabilitation populations

Skills/Abilities:

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Demonstrated ability to minister in a multi-faith context
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Conditions of Employment:

- This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory **Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)**where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
- Will be required to travel to various work locations and provide own transportation.
