**Speech-Language Pathologist**

We are currently seeking a **Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in our Saint John, N.B. region.**

**VIVA Therapeutic Services** (VIVA) was founded by Danielle Pelletier in 2005, to provide preschool aged children with autism spectrum disorder and their families with high quality, evidence-based services. At VIVA, our programs are dedicated to providing quality intervention and making every teaching moment count. As a result of our programs’ success, we have gained our government’s confidence in our contracted services and currently serve over 600 families across the province of New Brunswick.

Our **Speech-Language Pathologists **are highly valued team members who provide quality comprehensive and consultative services to preschool children with ASD and their families. Our Speech-Language Pathologists provide assessment, treatment, consultation and training to our clients, families, and teams with the goal of ensuring that each child reaches their full potential and has enhanced quality of life. **Position Summary**:
A Speech-Language Pathologist is responsible for assessing, treating, developing and supervising communication plans for preschool-aged children with ASD.

The role of the Speech-Language Pathologist will include but is not limited to:

- Conducting formal and informal assessments with preschool-aged clients with a diagnosis of ASD at intake or during the course of their treatment in the home and community settings
- Supporting families and clinical teams in selecting meaningful and functional goals in the areas of communication, speech, language and feeding
- Collaborating and coaching clinical teams, community partners and families to implement treatment goals and recommendations including goals within the following special key areas: augmentative and alternative communication, articulation, language development, joint attention, feeding, and social communication
- Providing direct treatment sessions and consultative services to clients with an emphasis on caregiver involvement
- Preparing and offering training and workshops to families and colleagues
- Facilitating successful transitions into school by preparing and documenting relevant materials and plans
- Supervising Communication Health Assistants (CHAs) and completing required supervision documentation
- Implementing and adhering to clinical service delivery policies and provincial regulation
- Supporting clients as they transition to school by collaborating with school personnel and sharing relevant reports, materials, and goals
- Conducting administrative duties relating to scheduling, caseload management, waitlist management, supervision, and monthly reports

**Qualifications and Educational Requirements**:

- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Member in good standing of the New
- Brunswick Association of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, or ability to become a member
- A minimum of five years experience working in the field of autism spectrum disorder is preferred, and a minimum of two years experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Excellent clinical skills in the areas of responsibility described above
