**Position Overview**:
We are currently seeking a talented and enthusiastic On Call Culinary Wizard (aka Daycare Chef) to join our team. When covering shifts, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious meals and snacks that meet the dietary needs and preferences of children in our care while adhering to Canada's Food Guide requirements. From crafting creative and kid-friendly menus to whipping up culinary delights that leave little ones asking for seconds, the Daycare Chef plays a crucial role in ensuring that every mealtime is a joyous occasion. This position has the ability to become a FT Assistant Cook Position.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Execute nutritious meals and snacks that comply with dietary guidelines and food safety regulations.
- Incorporate fresh, seasonal ingredients and innovative recipes to keep menus exciting and diverse.
- Ensure that meals are served in appropriate portion sizes and are presented in an appealing and appetizing manner.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items, regular sanitation of cooking equipment, and adherence to hygiene protocols.
- Collaborate with daycare staff to accommodate special dietary needs and accommodate food allergies or intolerances.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage food costs within budgetary constraints.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience working as a chef, cook, or culinary professional, preferably in a childcare or educational setting.
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized culinary institute is a plus.
- Knowledge of child nutrition, food safety standards, and dietary guidelines.
- Creative flair and passion for cooking, with a knack for turning simple ingredients into extraordinary dishes.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact positively with children, parents, and colleagues.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing menus, dietary requirements, and special events.
- Enthusiasm for working in a team environment and contributing to a positive workplace culture.
- Current Food Handler's Certificate or willingness to obtain one.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5 - 20 per week
