**Salad Bar Food Prep Associate Job Summary**

Our growing food retail business requires a friendly and dynamic individual to join our Salad Bar Team. The shift is currently 11am - 7pm and the applicant is required 2 to 3 days per week. The shifts are scheduled for weekdays as well as weekends.

As the applicant, you are enthusiastic about customer service, quality, and merchandising; you are a team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced and challenging food service environment.

**Salad Bar Associate Responsibilities and Duties**
- Ensure that each customer receives outstanding service by providing a friendly environment, including greeting and acknowledging every guest, directing them to products in the store, maintaining solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.
- Follow food safety procedures and maintain order and cleanliness of the store, equipment and work stations so that customers may enjoy a safe and appealing shopping experience.
- Prepare and produce quality foods such as cooked cold salads and a variety of prepared fresh food items, providing freshness, taste and attractiveness to garner customer satisfaction.
- Follow calculated recipes to ensure consistency, accuracy in pricing and value, and minimizing preventable loss
- Coordinate and attractively prepare special orders and party trays following established procedures and provide accurate pricing to ensure customer catering needs are satisfied..
- Properly store, replenish, rotate and make best use of fresh product; also monitor inventory to ensure quality, and to limit potential product waste.
- Safely operate and maintain tools such as knives, scissors, food processors, gas oven/range and reports deficiencies to management.
- Create and manage appealing display of food choices to encourage continuing sales.
- Prepare soups, fresh-cut product and food items such as sandwiches and fillings, salads and specialty trays.
- Cultivate a proper stock of food items as well as required supplies as needed, in order to satisfy customer demand.
- Prepare and fulfill customer orders for multiple departments as per store policies and procedures to achieve customer satisfaction.
- Train new Salad Bar Team Members in all manners of the job in order to maintain consistency in the department.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with team members, as well as other department members, to offer quality customer service.
- Assisting in other duties or departments as assigned.

**Physical Requirements**

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Operate such tools as meat slicer, knives, stove, food processor, industrial can opener, soup kettles and microwave.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing during each shift.
- The employee must frequently lift items ranging from 5-50lbs.
- An employee would be sighted and able to smell, taste and handle product to ensure quality.

**Expected Hours of Work**:
Day, evening, weekend and holiday hours are required.

**Salad Bar Associate Requirements**:

- 1 year of Food Prep experience is preferred.
- Willingness to work independently or with supervisors and staff to solve problems and meet production goals.
- Adaptable and flexible.
- A positive attitude.
- Communication proficiency.
- Organizational skills.
- Basic mathematical skills.
- A professional appearance.
- Customer service experience an asset but not required.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $17.20 per hour
