**City Experiences is seeking a Junior Cook for our City Cruises operation in Niagara Falls, ON.**
- *Please note, this is a seasonal/contract position*_

**About You**:
This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

**About the Opportunity**:
The **Junior Cook** will work under the direction of the Food, Beverage & Retail Shift Manager. Working alongside of the Cook, the Junior Cook will be responsible for preparing foods, operating kitchen equipment ranging from grill and deep fryers. They will be responsible for cleaning food preparation equipment and work areas, restocking items, and food portioning. Essential qualifications for this position are time management, teamwork and the ability to stand for long hours.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for the proper safe food handling and sanitation procedures in a timely manner in a fast-paced high-volume environment
- Portion food products prior to cooking according to standard portion sizes and recipe specifications
- Maintains a clean and organized work area
- Ability to prepare all food from raw to finished state, rotating of stock and storing product
- Follows recipes, portion control, and presentation specification as set by management
- Restocks all items as needed throughout shift and clean/maintain station while practicing good safety and sanitation skills
- Greets guests in a professional, friendly, and approachable manner
- Cleans food preparation equipment, work areas, and counters or tables
- Exhibits a team approach, willing attitude, and a positive approach towards assisting fellow co-workers
- Adheres to all health and safety regulations
- Works with a safety mindset by following all safety policies, procedures and safety measures (i.e. PPE). Identifies and brings forward risks, hazards and opportunities on the job. Actively participates in health and safety in the workplace
- Ability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, weekends and holidays
- Maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance (refer to appearance standards in employee handbook)
- Reports to work on time and for all scheduled shifts.
- Understands all Niagara City Cruises’ policies and procedures relating to the employee’s role within the company
- Maintains any applicable licenses and certifications
- Completes any other duties as assigned

**Requirements & Qualifications**:

- O.S.S.D. or equivalent as recognized by the Ministry of Education
- Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in food and beverage
- Non-slip shoes are a requirement
- Food Handlers Certification
- Basic mathematical skills
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced work environment
- Knowledge of another language in addition to English is preferred
- A positive attitude and good work ethic
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, wipe, push, pull, move or lift up to 35 pounds (16 kilograms)
- Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather conditions for extended periods
- Continually and repeatedly perform functions indoors and outdoors
- If required, wear assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (i.e. gloves, weather appropriate dress attire, sun protection)
