In recent years, targeted radionuclide therapy with unconventional medical isotopes has shown remarkable results treating patients that do not respond to other options. With the unique infrastructure including the world’s largest cyclotron and the deep expertise and tradition in radiopharmaceutical development, TRIUMF is driving the effort in this highly marketable field.

We are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to
- Conduct synthesis for the development of novel radiopharmaceuticals.
- Carry out in vitro and in vivo evaluations, including cell uptake assays, biodistribution and imaging studies.
- Present the project at conference symposia and publish the study data in the peer-reviewed literature.

You will be required to successfully complete the TRIUMF in-house radiation safety training course and be designated as a TRIUMF Nuclear Energy Worker.
- Strong lab techniques for organic synthesis and characterization is essential
- Excellent work ethics, professionalism, and teamwork
- Project management and organizational skills
- Good communication skills, written and verbal
- Ph.D. in Chemistry or equivalent field of research (received within 5 years)

Previous radiochemistry experience is not required but may be considered an asset.

This one-year term grant-funded position is located at TRIUMF. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with UBC, BC Cancer and other partners. You will acquire hands-on experience and knowledge with a collection of important and upcoming radionuclides, radiopharmaceutical preparations, and biology evaluations.

Salary Information: $65,000 - 76,000
