Shippers and receivers perform some or all of the following duties:
Determine method of shipment and prepare bills, invoices and other shipping documents.

Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.

Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks, by use of operating the forklift, hand truck or the crane to load, unload, transport and store goods.

Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or purchase orders, record shortages and reject damaged goods and report to the office immediately. Verify the completeness of all incoming shipments prior to signing the receipt of shipment.

Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas with proper part numbers attached

Maintain internal record-keeping systems. (Purchase Order's)

Know safe storage and handling procedures for various chemicals and materials.

Know proper shipping procedures for transportation of dangerous goods.

Ensure appropriate documentation is attached to special order goods.

Notify appropriate staff when shipping material is needed, ensuring an adequate supply at all times.

Organize and maintain the receiving area to ensure accessibility, and the most efficient use of space.

Assist departments with the transportation of goods.

Understand the process flow across various systems used within the department and assist departments with the transportation of goods.

**Salary**: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
