Job Description: Material Handler
Position Overview:
**Responsibilities**:
- Safely operate counterbalance and reach trucks to move materials, products, and supplies within the warehouse environment.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records by correctly identifying, labeling, and storing items in designated locations.
- Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers using appropriate equipment while ensuring that proper handling procedures are followed.
- Efficiently pick and pack orders based on customer requirements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing materials for damage, defects, or discrepancies, and report any issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and free from hazards, ensuring that materials are stored in a logical and accessible manner.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment, including pre-shift inspections, and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs to supervisors.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, following OSHA and company standards to maintain a secure work environment.
- Collaborate with colleagues, supervisors, and other departments to coordinate material movement and optimize warehouse operations.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory movements, equipment inspections, and any incidents that occur during material handling activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid certification to operate counterbalance and reach trucks.
- Proven experience operating counterbalance and reach trucks in a warehouse setting.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and guidelines related to material handling.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy items on a regular basis.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and inventory tracking.
- Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing priorities.
