**As a Security Guard, Campus Community Protection, you will**:

- Ensure the safety and protection of individuals and University property by patrolling grounds and buildings.
- Interact with and provide initial support to persons experiencing mental health crises.
- Liaise with community and law enforcement partners to solve recurring issues.
- Build strong relationships with students, teachers and support staff.
- Prevent and detect security hazards and enforce both criminal and provincial statutes, as well as city bylaws and University regulations.
- Perform preliminary and follow-up investigations, draft notes and complete reports detailing observations and information received.
- At the request of the on-duty Team Coordinator, help train and evaluate new employees.

- Great communication skills in both official languages (will be tested).
- Experience working with the general public.
- Experience working with the public in conflict situations.
- Keen ability to work in a team.
- Effective interpersonal communication skills and be committed to working in a team-based environment with a focus on continuous improvement and quality customer service.

**You must have**:

- Ontario Security Guard License
- First Aid, CPR and Oxygen administration
- A valid Ontario driver’s license with Abstract and Police check clearance.

**Considered an asset**:

- Holding both Security Guard License and Private Investigator License.
- Knowledge of the Use of Force Continuum and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training.
- Smart Serve Certification
- Knowledge of security practices, terminology, and understanding of relevant regulations.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and be able to multi-task and work with multiple individuals at the same time.

**Job Type**: Part-time

Pay: $31.19-$39.71 per hour

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
