**DEPUTY FIRE CHIEF, SAFETY & LOGISTICS**

**Purpose of the position**
The position will be responsible for (but not limited to):
- Managing the Fire Services safety and logistics divisions to ensure objectives are met.
- Overseeing operations necessary to achieve exemplary services for the protection of life and property through efficient and effective implementation of the Lac La Biche County approved Quality Management Plan (QMP).
- Assisting the Manager, Protective Services / Regional Fire Chief in identifying, establishing, and implementing best administrative practices related to department activities with a focus on continuous improvement, efficiencies, and cost effectiveness.
- Responding to emergency and non-emergency incidents in a senior leadership role.
- Other duties as required.

To be successful in this position, you will come with:
- a Certificate or diploma in Fire Service Administration or equivalent
- A degree in Fire Service Administration, Business and/or Public Administration or other relevant programs will be considered an asset.
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in Fire Department Operations and administration including 3 years experience as a Fire Officer
- Experience as a past or current member of a Paid On-Call Fire Department would be an asset.
- NFPA 1001 - Level II
- NFPA 1002 Driver Operator
- NFPA 1021 - level I (Level II an asset)
- Alberta Safety Codes Officer - Fire B2 (C2 an asset)
- ICS - 300 (ICS 400 and/or advanced Emergency Management training an asset)
- Experience working with organizational committees and the public
- Class 5 Driver’s License with Q endorsement
- Standard First Aid with Level C CPR and AED
**Position details**
- Salary range is: currently under review
- _ Plus: 3weeks vacation, a comprehensive health & dental benefits program (100% employer paid) and participation in the LAPP pension plan_
- Full-time permanent position: Monday-Friday (evening & weekend work will be required as necessary)
