Scraper Operator

Howitt Construction is a seasonal excavation company, based out of Red Deer and currently working all over Alberta. Types of projects include new landfill & lagoons cells, produced water ponds, road re-construction and various types of site developments.

We are hiring two **experienced** twin engine motor scraper operators for a road re-construction project 30 min east of Strathmore. The scope of work consists of topsoil stripping, common excavation and grading.
- **Work Details**_
- 7am to 6pm - 11 hr shifts,
- 7 days a week, 4 day long weekends,
- LOA availalble,
- Must have valid WHMIS ticket.

**_Scope of Work_**
- Complete walk arounds,
- Safely operate scraper,
- Identify topsoil and overburden horizons and strip topsoil cleanly,
- Efficiently load and unload material,
- Push/pull with one other twin-engine scraper,
- Fuel & grease machine,
- Identify basic machine issues & contact site supervisor, no mechanical work need (ie. locate blown hose, understand warning lights and gauges)

- High visibility vest,
- Hard hat,
- Steel toed boots,
- Gloves.

- 12 hour shift

**Experience**:

- twin engine scraper: 1 year (required)
