Butcher/meat Cutter

Responsibilities:
- Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer specifications
- Follow proper food safety and handling procedures to ensure the quality and safety of the meat products
- Package and label meat products for display and sale
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cutting area and equipment
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with their meat selection and answering any questions they may have
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient operation of the meat department
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a meat cutter or butcher is preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of different cuts of meat and their uses in cooking
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Basic math skills for weighing and measuring meat products accurately
**Skills**:
- Food safety: Understanding and adherence to proper food safety practices in handling and preparing meat products
- Kitchen: Familiarity with working in a kitchen environment, including knowledge of food preparation techniques and equipment
- Package: Ability to properly package meat products for display and sale, ensuring freshness and proper labeling
- Butcher: Knowledge of butchering techniques, including cutting, trimming, and portioning different cuts of meat
- Customer service: Ability to provide friendly and helpful customer service, assisting customers with their meat selection and answering any questions they may have
- Food preparation: Proficiency in preparing meat products for cooking or consumption, including marinating, seasoning, or tenderizing as needed
- Food industry: Understanding of the food industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to handling and processing meat productS
- Food handling: Knowledge of proper techniques for handling raw meat to prevent cross-contamination and ensure food safety
- Meat cutting: Proficiency in cutting, trimming, deboning, and portioning different cuts of meat according to customer specifications
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $18.00-$25.00 per hour
