Professor Charles Couturier's lab is looking to hire a highly motivated Research Associate.
About the Lab
The Couturier Lab is dedicated to understanding the spatial determinants of tumor and immune cell interactions in brain cancer. By employing advanced single-cell and spatial -omics technologies, our research aims to elucidate the mechanisms driving cancer cell behavior within distinct tissue niches. The ultimate goal is to identify therapeutic strategies that disrupt harmful cellular programs, improving patient survival and quality of life. Based at the Montreal Neurological Institute, the lab collaborates with leading scientists and clinicians across McGill University and international institutions, including in Boston, Cleveland, and Europe.
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and refine single-cell and spatial -omics workflows, including technologies such as single-cell RNA sequencing and spatial transcriptomics.
- Design and execute experiments to generate large-scale genomic and transcriptomic data.
- Analyze sequencing datasets, including single-cell and spatial data, using existing computational biology pipelines and tools.
- Contribute to the development of novel bioinformatics tools for spatial and single-cell data analysis.
- Collaborate with local and international teams on multidisciplinary research projects.
- Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to grant writing.
- Provide guidance and supervision to graduate students, research assistants, and trainees, as required.
- Contribute to maintaining lab operations, including organizing workflows, tracking supplies, and supporting adherence to best practices in research and safety.
