John Ross & Sons Ltd. is a fourth generation, family-owned, scrap metal recycler. The company is the largest scrap metal recycling facility in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 70 years, primarily in Halifax. John Ross & Sons Ltd. specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals.

Position Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual with the ability to work in a fast-paced office environment. The individual must possess strong attention to detail, communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. This position reports to the VP Finance.

Primary Responsibilities are
- Account and general ledger reconciliations
- Assist with cash management entries
- Other accounting support duties
- Accounts payable entry
- Accounts receivable entry
- Administration: reports, data entry, filing

Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience reconciling general ledgers an asset
- Full accounting cycle experience an asset
- Experience in an accounts receivable/payable role
- Intermediate Excel skills
- Completion of an Accounting diploma/certification or equivalent experience
- Excellent communications skills - both verbal and written - as well as computer proficiency

Hours of Operation

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5: 00pm
Work Location: In person
