**Location**:This position will be based in Milton with flexibility to support Georgetown location and requires regular travel within the Halton Region. This position offers occasional work-from-home flexibility, requiring a private, confidential workspace;**as well**will require flexibility in rotating work locations depending on client’s location within Halton.

**Status**: Temporary full-time for approximately two years with the possibility of extension from September 1, 2025, to August 31, 2027.

**Hours of Work**:As per the Collective Agreement, hours are Monday to Friday; 8:30-4:30, with flexible hours to meet client needs and court schedule, including occasional early mornings and evenings

**Classification**:Union

**Rate of Pay**:$26.41 - $29.54 per hour

**Reports to**: Program Manager, Community Services

**JOB SUMMARY**

Court Support Worker will provide support to clients throughout the family court process including helping victims prepare for family court proceedings; referring victims to other specialized services and supports in the community; helping with safety planning, such as getting to and from court safely, and accompanying the victim to legal appointments and court proceedings, where appropriate.

**Responsibilities**
- Have demonstrated experience providing crisis intervention and emotional support to female survivors of violence.
- Help families identify the supports they need and help women access those supports.
- Liaise and coordinate with other community agencies.
- Meeting with clients in their homes, when safe to do so, is a requirement of this position
- Be skilled in clinical and community development social work.
- Have expertise in conducting groups and group facilitation.
- Have sound knowledge of community agencies and resources.
- Have the capacity to work in a computerized environment and the ability to track stats.
- Excellent writing, oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Can work with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Can conduct safety plans with women.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) degree or a Social Service Worker diploma or equivalent, combined with relevant experience in the Violence Against Women sector;
- Relevant experience of 5 years minimum as a legal advocate in the family justice field is required.
- Eligibility for registration with a regulatory body (OCSWSSW, CRPO) is an asset.
- Current CPR & First Aid, Food Handlers’ Certification, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (CPI), and Danger Assessment training are mandatory.
- Ability to communicate in a language other than English is an asset.
- Demonstrated track record of collaborative advocacy with other community partners.
- A solid understanding of trauma-informed care principles.
- Consistently practice from a self-reflective, anti-oppressive framework.
- Subscribe to feminist theory and demonstrate an understanding of the history of Violence Against Women sector work as well as contemporary trends and statistics
- Certification related to the justice system is an asset.
- Have a minimum 3-5 year experience working with and understanding violence against women and children.
- Have a working knowledge of the Family Court, Legal Aid and Criminal Court System.
- Sound knowledge of current legislation, Social Housing Reform Act, Employment Law, Immigration, Ontario Works, and ODSP.
- Excellent knowledge of Social Work Code of Ethics, boundaries, and best practices.
- Subscribe to a feminist theory base and gender analysis practice.
- Have public education skills

**Requirements**:

- Clear TB test is required
- COVID vaccinations are required
- Clear Police Record Check with Vulnerable Sector is required
- Attendance at agency meetings and events that may occur outside regular work hours, with advance notice of time and location
- Must have daily access to a reliable personal vehicle and be insured as the vehicle’s primary driver with a minimum of $2 million 3rd party liability coverage (proof of insurance will be required).
