**Requisition ID**: 9779**Hours Per Week**: 35**Position**: Existing**FTE**: 1**Department**: Electronic Services**No Months Per Year**: 12**Position Status**: Permanent**Employee Group**: OOS**Rate of Pay**: $77,796 - $97,260**Posting Closing Date**: 5/8/25Edmonton Catholic Schools is seeking an Electronics' Supervisor to join their Facility Services Team The Supervisor, Electronic Services is responsible for overseeing the installation, maintenance, and management of electronic systems within Division-owned buildings. This role ensures that all electronic projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety and regulatory standards. The Supervisor provides leadership and direction to a team of unionized staff, coordinates emergency management responses, and maintains comprehensive documentation and records. By fostering effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, the Supervisor contributes to the smooth operation and continuous improvement of the Division's electronic services, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for staff and students. Additionally, the Supervisor participates in managing a portion of the department's $5 million budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources and financial oversight. The Supervisor also engages in professional development activities to maintain technical knowledge and support the continuous improvement of the department.
**RESPONSIBILITIES & ACTIVITIES**
1. Project Management - Electronic Systems
- Plan, schedule, and coordinate the installation and maintenance of electronic systems in Division-owned buildings.
- Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with Division standards and legislative requirements.
- Oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and budget-compliant completion.
- Prepare estimates, project plans, and status reports to keep stakeholders informed.
- Facilitate and coordinate project participants, including AUPE staff and contractors.
2. Supervise and Lead Staff
- Provide leadership, direction, and supervision to a team of AUPE staff.
- Assign, delegate, and evaluate work to ensure it meets established standards and timelines.
- Monitor staff performance, document evaluations, and participate in the disciplinary process as needed.
- Coach, train, and mentor staff to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure staffing activities comply with Human Resource Services policies and Collective Agreements.
3. Coordinate Emergency Management
- Respond promptly to emergency situations such as fire, flood, and vandalism to minimize impact.
- Implement emergency response plans to ensure the safety and security of Division facilities.
- Maintain readiness to handle emergencies 24/7, ensuring rapid recovery and continuity of operations.
4. Compliance with Safety and Regulatory Standards
- Ensure all project work complies with Occupational Health and Safety legislation and building codes.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify and mitigate risks.
- Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures to protect staff and students.
- Collaborate with external agencies to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
5. Maintain Documentation and Records
- Produce and update systems documentation and infrastructure diagrams.
- Maintain comprehensive paper and computerized files, records, and databases for electronic systems.
- Review and investigate current operations to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
- Coordinate the development of preventative maintenance programs to enhance system reliability.
6. Consult and Communicate with Stakeholders
- Respond to inquiries and provide technical guidance to Division staff and other stakeholders.
- Liaise with department and school staff to develop and maintain project schedules.
- Coordinate with service providers, contractors, and vendors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Provide customers with advice, information, and directions to resolve issues within the area of responsibility.
7. Participate in Department Planning and Activities
- Contribute to department planning, including budgeting, staffing levels, and goal setting.
- Act as manager during absences and participate in department projects as assigned.
- Develop and implement plans and resources for long-term projects in collaboration with team members.
- Maintain technical knowledge through professional development activities.
