**Key Responsibilities**:

- Respond to customer enquiries, providing information concerning products, selection and prices.
- Ensure on shelf merchandise reflects current listing base.
- Co-ordinate write-off and retail reduction with key stakeholders
- Organize cooler so as to facilitate stocking of shelf, product rotation and inventory count.
- Check on shelf inventory for code date so as to comply with department policy.
- Re-stock on shelf inventory as required.
- Prepare a wide variety of deli meats, cheeses and party trays.
- Responsible to manage merchandise through presentation, promotions and displays.
- Merchandise products on flyer to maximize sales.
- Develop productive working relationship with other store staff, ie. Sanitation, Pricing Coordinator and Receiving so as to optimize Deli department sales.
- Ensure all department employees receive proper training and supervision.
- Effectively manage employees by efficiently scheduling personnel to meet the needs of the department based on business volume and workloads.
- Complies with all store policies and procedures.
- Perform other tasks as required by management to meet business needs.
- Needs to be available to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.

**Skills & Knowledge**:

- 3-5 years of experience working in a grocery department in a large format retail food environment, preferably in a supervisory or assistant supervisory role.
- Post-secondary education and/or experience in merchandising and/or business management is considered an asset.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills with a talent for building customer loyalty.
- Strong motivational, leadership skills & organizational abilities - able to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
