Position: Part-Time Government Relations Manager/Lobbyist for Coastal College of British Columbia (CCBC)

CCBC offers key programs such as the Early Childhood Education Assistant (ECEA) and Education Assistant (EA) courses, with a strong focus on compliance, quality education, and student success.

Role Overview: CCBC is seeking an experienced and strategic Part-Time Lobbyist to advocate for the college’s interests at the provincial government level. This role is ideal for individuals with prior experience in government relations, policy advocacy, and a thorough understanding of regulations and policies related to child care, the Education Quality Assurance (EQA), the Private Training Institutions Branch (PTIB), and equivalent bodies or standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and execute lobbying strategies to promote CCBC's educational programs and objectives.
- Engage with policymakers, stakeholders, and government officials to strengthen CCBC’s position and influence in areas relevant to its courses and community impact.
- Monitor and analyze policy developments that affect higher education, child care regulations, and training institution standards.
- Prepare and deliver persuasive communications, reports, and presentations to advocate for CCBC's interests.
- Provide strategic advice and insights on government policies and regulations impacting CCBC’s operations and student opportunities.
- Represent CCBC at government meetings, public hearings, and relevant industry conferences.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience working within or with the provincial government is required.
- In-depth knowledge of provincial policies related to child care, EQA, PTIB, and equivalent regulations.
- Strong understanding of the education sector, including challenges and opportunities in private training institutions.
- Excellent communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate effectively.
- Ability to work part-time with flexible hours as needed.

Pay: $50.00-$100.00 per hour
