Intermediate Gis

We are seeking an intermediate to senior level GIS mapping technician to play an important role on our developing team for our NE British Columbia operations. Applicants must have experience with operational mapping in the natural resources sector, combined with technical, leadership, and customer service skills, with formal education and/or training in Geographical Information Systems. The successful applicant will be team oriented, and bring a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and passion for GIS, to the culture of Strategic. Strong skills in ArcGIS software, Cartography, Data Mining, Data Bases, and Analysis in the natural resource sector is a must.

GIS & Mapping Technician:

- Experience with ArcGIS 10.7-10.8 for map layout, editing production and analysis including Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.
- Knowledge of geodatabase schemas, import and export of geodatabase layers, creation of domains, and ability to navigate client Resource Management Systems,
- Understands concepts of balance, content, intended audience, proper use of symbology / labelling, transparencies, appropriate display of features with symbology, use of graphic elements, tables, and charts for cartographic production.
- Can make decisions on what data to use for projects, contact clients and other outside sources for data, deals with nonstandard data sets and transformations, and adhered to company data standards and data sharing agreements.
- Creates complex queries, understands general geoprocessing tools, raster analysis, data interpolation, and understands the requirements for building multi variate spatial models in collaboration with domain experts in the field.
- Experience with Model Builder and leverages automation of day to day tasks and project inefficiencies using out of the box tools and / or develops custom scripts.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to work independent or be self-directed.
- Results oriented with attention to detail, accuracy, and provides quality products in a fast paced environment.
