**THE ROLE**
Plan, organize and deliver dance classes.

Demonstrate and instruct dance and fitness activities and techniques.

Assemble supplies and equipment such as music, as required.

Attend to clients with special needs.

Prepare class schedules.

Record, monitor and report program attendance.

Prepare, distribute and submit evaluation forms, as required.

Provide lifestyle awareness information.

Liaise with outside organizations to ensure latest updates/trends are introduced to the program.

Maintain current level of certification and abilities required to conduct dance classes.

Assist in the design of recreational dance programs and implement changes, as required.

Assist with advertising and public relations information, as required.

Ensure proper registration fees are collected from participants and provide receipts, as required.

Document and communicate any incidents, accidents, or damage.

Inspect equipment and facility for safety and take corrective action where necessary.

Monitor classes to ensure safety and provide emergency or first aid assistance when required.

Ensure compliance with the Health & Safety Program, in conjunction with management, and may act as a Representative or member of a local NPF Committee.

Comply with NPF policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED** Qualifications**

High school diploma AND some years experience conducting dance classes

AND

Specialty Dance Instructors Certificate or equivalent

Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications

**Knowledge**:
Of instructional techniques

Of group dynamics

Of behaviour management

Of participant development

Of health and safety practices

Of injury prevention

Of adaptive recreation techniques

**Experience**:
In planning, organizing, and delivering dance classes

In monitoring and controlling large groups of participants

In ensuring safety protocols and procedures

**Competencies, Skills and Abilities**

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

**LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS**
English Essential / Bilingual an asset

Oral: Functional
