We are launching a **Health Services & Addictions Diploma Program** and related **micro-credentials** that reflect the highest standards of care, ethical practice, and cultural sensitivity.
Position Summary
We are seeking a **Curriculum Specialist & Instructor** with expertise in **addictions and health services** to:
- **Complete & Align the Program** - Finalize outstanding curriculum tasks and ensure full compliance with **Canadian Addiction Counsellors Certification Federation (CACCF)** standards.
- **Teach Micro-Credentials** - Deliver select diploma courses as stand-alone micro-credentials, generating learner value and program revenue while supporting your salary.
This role combines **curriculum leadership** with **hands-on teaching** for a professional who wants to influence both program design and classroom delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Audit and refine course outlines, learning outcomes, and instructional materials to meet CACCF core competencies.
- Map curriculum to regulatory, ethical, and clinical standards.
- Integrate trauma-informed, inclusive, and culturally relevant learning strategies.
- Teach selected diploma courses as micro-credentials; engage adult learners and provide mentorship.
- Advise the Dean and academic team on industry trends, practicum requirements, and credentialing pathways.
- Participate in program evaluation and quality assurance processes.
**Qualifications**:
**Required**
- Extensive professional experience in addictions counselling, health services, or related mental health fields.
- In-depth knowledge of the Canadian context for addictions and health services, including regulatory, ethical, and clinical frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to develop or align curriculum with professional standards.
- **CACCF certification**.
- Teaching experience in post-secondary or adult education.
**Preferred**
- Familiarity with Alberta’s post-secondary system or private career colleges.
- Experience working with Indigenous or equity-seeking populations.
