Computer Repair Technician

As a Computer Repair Technician your responsibilities include performing a full cycle of repair by diagnosing fault, implementing solution and testing final repair including but not limited to the following:
- Careful review and confirmation on accuracy of identification of product.
- Run diagnostic and performance tests to identify failure on both laptop and desktop computers.
- Perform complete tear down on various electronic equipment to identify hardware failure.
- Verify customer reported defect or functionality issue.
- Communicate and interact with Team Leads and other team members to ensure successful and efficient repair of devices.
- Order replacement parts through electronic inventory management system.
- Accurately document diagnosis and repair information in online repair tracking system.
- Perform repairs, install replacement components and test whole unit using provided diagnostic procedures.
- Identification of cosmetic defects.
- Complete detailed visual inspection to ensure 100% within compliance on all quality guidelines.
- Ensure that KPI expectations are achieved on all duties.
- Adherence of all internal documented work instructions.
- Assist colleagues, such as Quality Control, in peak period times or coverage.
- Maintaining a clean and efficient work area.
- Practicing and following ESD procedures
- Continued development on the competency skillset expectations outlined for the position.
**REQUIRED SKILLS**:
- A relevant technical degree / diploma is an advantage.
- 1-2 years of computer repair experience an asset.
- Must be able to troubleshoot, identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
- Knowledge of simple or repetitive component replacement such as LCD/HDD for multiple commodities.
- Able to clearly organize and categorize work priorities, in order to reach daily KPI/Units per Hour metrics
- Self motivated and able to work independently on known tasks while able to identify areas and timing when additional assistance or guidance is required.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power-point, etc.
- Demonstrated ability to read and follow written instructions and ideas.
- Job requires the repeated and coordinated use of your hands, wrists, and fingers to use a computer keyboard, and other small handheld tools.
- Goal oriented and must be accustomed to achieving results through team-work.
- Committed to continuous improvement and knowledge sharing with peers and management.
