- **Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to)**:_
- **Document and Records Control**_
- Conduct planning meetings to establish project-specific documentation requirements
- Tracking labour costs and scheduling completion of documentation packages
- Reviewing vendor related quality assurance documents
- Compiling and organizing production records
- Preparing document packages for delivery to customers
- Presenting completed document package to customer
- Verifying documents in production are correct and the approved version is in place
- Reviewing in-process records, record keeping and completed reports
- Obtaining and processing corrections to records as needed
- Suggesting and implementing document control process changes and opportunities for improvement
- Finding efficiencies and effectiveness in the record collection system and the document distribution process
- **Vendor Approval**_
- Auditing vendor quality assurance manuals and programs
- Collecting and reviewing vendor documentation to maintain the approved supplier list
- Reviewing and approving vendor purchase orders to ensure vendor is qualified for the scope of work and QA requirements are documented
- **Technical Writing**_
- Modifying and/or developing documentation as needed to improve the production process
- Reviewing existing documents to ensure they comply with quality system requirements
- Liaison with design and production staff to implement documents and process changes
- Ensuring that proper approval processes are documented and followed
- Developing forms and templates for standard requirements
- **Key Skill Requirements**:_
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to organize information and records in a logical format
- High attention to detail, in a consistent manner
- Ability to effectively discuss documentation requirements with other technical and production staff members utilizing a common vernacular
- Ability to assess issues and suggest potential solutions
- Ability to prioritize work and meet customer deadlines
- Ability and desire to learn and understand technical requirements
- Excellent analytical skills
- Organized, ability to multi-task effectively, and superior time management skills
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to make independent decisions and establish work priorities
- **Key Experience/Education**:_
- College level diploma in document administration, document control or accounting preferred
- College or university level education in a technical or engineering area an asset
- Previous experience working in an ISO 9001 environment required
- Experience with Z299, N299, N285 and/or ASME BPVC preferred
- 5+ years previous years’ experience in document control and/or technical writing required
- 3-5 years previous experience in an engineering or other technical environment preferred
- External Quality Auditing Experience is an asset
- Experience with dimensional inspection instruments is an asset
- Knowledge of engineering drawing conventions is an asset
