**Job Summary**:
As a **Veterinary Technician Specialist** for our Quarantine facility in **Laval**, you will be responsible for the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your contribution will ensure the health of our animals, as well as the integrity of our colony date.

In this role, primary** responsibilities **include:

- Ensure good welfare and humane care for all animals
- Support the veterinarian in the medical diagnosis
- Provide training to less experienced veterinary technicians
- Collect, document, review, and verify data on forms, or in electronic data capture systems

**Key Elements**:
We are looking for the following minimum **qualifications** for this role:

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Animal Health Technician/Toxicology Technician or equivalent experience
- College Diploma in Animal Health, Bioecology or any related Animal Science discipline
- Able to work physically (lift up to 20 kg, walk, stand, stoop, etc.)
- Understanding of written English is mandatory. Bilingualism French and English is preferable

Please note that upon being hired, you will have to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the expense of the company.

**Role Specific Information**:

- Location: 531 Boul. Des Prairies, Laval
- Salary: Starting at $25.14/hrs. Opportunity to start at higher level and higher salary with specific research experience
- Premiums: Evening (2.50$/hrs), Weekend (2.75$//hrs)
- Holidays paid at double time
- Schedule: Weekdays, between Monday to Friday. Depending on the needs, you may have to do overtime and weekend/holidays rotations
- Permanent position as of the hiring, full-time 37.5hrs per week
