BGC Dovercourt is a not-for-profit organization that provides after school, summer and March break programs for over 1,000 children and youth at two locations in Toronto’s west end. The mission of the Club is to provide a safe, supportive place where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships and develop confidence and skills for life.
**Position Summary**: The Arts & Crafts Program Staff manages and implements programs relating to arts and crafts. They are responsible for coordinating all arts & crafts activities, planning creative projects.

**Hours**:Full-Time
*availability of 5 days per week is mandatory**
As the **Arts & Crafts Program Staff**you will:
- Implement daily activities and overall programs that nurture the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of children; specifically, activities must target a variety of arts and crafts mediums (e.g., painting, sculpture, collage, têxtile arts, etc.) and may incorporate research-based techniques or themes.
- Establish appropriate environments by ensuring safe, clean, and sanitary creative spaces.
- Build rapport with parents, keep them informed of their children’s progress, and encourage active involvement on a regular basis.
- Develop monthly reports summarizing activities offered, number of participants, and program success rates.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development sessions.
- Assist in daily program setup and cleanup.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Skills**:
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Graduate of, or currently enrolled in, a post-secondary child and youth care, visual arts, arts education, or related program.
- Experience working with children and youth.
- Background in visual arts, crafts, or arts education.
- Experience in program planning, research, and facilitation is an asset.
- Valid Standard First Aid and CPR - Level C certification. **(mandatory)**:
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check. **(mandatory)**
