Parks Custodian and Maintenance Worker

**The opportunity**:
Leduc County is looking an experienced and highly motivated Parks Custodian and Maintenance Worker to join our team. Reporting to the Community Facilities Coordinator, this exciting opportunity maintains the condition and appearance of the facilities and grounds at Jubilee Park on Wizard Lake. As a member of the Parks and Recreation team, the Parks Custodian & Maintenance Worker is a key contributor to the achievement of the department’s operational deliverables.

**What you will do**:
- Contributes to the operation of the department’s programs by performing work and adhering to technical and municipal standards.
- Cleans all outhouses, bathrooms and other public facilities and buildings.
- Empties, collects and removes trash receptacles and recyclable materials from individual sites and common areas.
- Keeps sites neat, clean, tidy and presentable.
- Maintains the condition and appearance of the grounds.
- Cleans campsites and fire pits when guests leave for the arrival of new guests.
- Inspects and operates various equipment and machinery to maintain all park amenities.
- Provides excellent customer service when providing patrons and visitors with park information.
- Assists with season opening and closing maintenance of the campgrounds.
- Adheres to guidelines as set out in Leduc County’s policies and administrative directives.
- Accountable for working in compliance with the _Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act_, Regulation and Code and participation in the Health, Safety and Wellness Program.
- Performs related duties as required and assigned.
**What you need to succeed**:
**Must-have**:
- A valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license.
**Nice to have**:
- A high school diploma.
- One (1) year of maintenance experience in the operation of lawn mowers, grass trimmers and other lawn care equipment.

We offer a competitive hourly salary of between $19.14 and $24.62. This opportunity is seasonal part time and is 20 hours per week scheduled Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and weekends, with some extended hours to meet operational requirements.
