Join us in creating a future beyond fossils We are looking for a Terminal Manager to join our team in Toronto, Canada. What you will do- Responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, production, maintenance, and personnel relations, including implementing the "UPM Step Change in safety, quality, and efficiency" program.- Coordinate and monitor compliance with legal requirements, and manage certifications such as ESR, Clean Industry, FSC, and PEFC.- Promote a safety-conscious work environment through the identification and documentation of safe work practices in adherence to safety, health, and environmental policies.- Establish safety and production strategies to meet budgeted production goals both quantitatively and qualitatively.- Ensure all activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations, in alignment with company policies.- Coordinate the production unit's functionality, including production planning, personnel relations, quality improvement, waste reduction, and daily operations.- Manage machinery and building maintenance, including the development of corrective, preventive, and predictive action plans, and oversee spare parts inventory.- Oversee the operating budget, support the "UPM smart spending" program, maintain high communication levels with supervisors, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Who you are: - You have any combination of education and experience equivalent to 5 years managerial experience in a paper converting/ finishing environment, and BS in Engineering or related discipline. Previous background in mechanical and / or electrical maintenance desired.- You can demonstrate analytical / logical problem-solving ability, while demonstrating inventiveness and initiative.- You are able to act as a change agent and serve as an effective team leader. People Management required.- You have excellent communication oral and written skills and the ability to fluently speak English.- You have previous computer experience, including MS Office products and automated production management systems - preferred.- Technical Background - Engineering, safety, Process Experience required, Lean/Six Sigma Experience preferred.
