Under the supervision of the General Manager, we are currently seeking a full-time Automotive Level 1 Apprentice to join our rapidly growing team. **Primary duties of the position include, but not limited to**:

- Helps the buddy technician, as necessary.
- Washing customer cars once service/repairs are complete.
- Conducts safety inspections and does general maintenance and minor repairs, as instructed.
- Performs the work described in the work orders efficiently and accurately, based on the dealer’s and manufacturer’s standards.
- Restocks the supplies, at the request of the technicians.
- Reports defective or poorly functioning equipment to the supervisor.
- Stores and labels parts if the work is under warranty, or if the customer asks that this be done.
- Examines the vehicle assigned to him/her, to determine if additional maintenance or safety work is required or recommended.
- Documents all work performed and recommended in the work order.
- Keeps up-to-date on the manufacturer’s technical bulletins.
- Ensures that the shop is clean and tidy.
- Reports any safety issues to management as soon as possible.
- Maintains a professional appearance.
- Performs other tasks, based on management requirements and instructions.
- Perform road tests using safe driving standards.
- Perform all training as required by Subaru Canada.

**Preferred Characteristics**:

- Strong desire to gain valuable experience in a dealership setting.
- Valid Driver’s License (Class G) with a clean driving record.
- Strong aptitude of technical/mechanical repairs.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as a team, managing time and work flow
- Good time management skills.
- A desire to achieve the very best in customer service and teamwork.
- Ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to effectively communicate automotive issues clearly.
