Dawson Road Maintenance operates a diverse fleet of specialized equipment using the latest in technology, including GPS-tracking backed by real-time weather forecasts. From winter snow to avalanches, mud slides or washouts, we work hard to make sure our highways are open and safe for the travelling public.

In this role you will be a valued member of Dawson Road Maintenance, working in a permanent, full-time position of **Superintendent, Roads**, reporting to the Manager of Operations. As the Superintendent, you will supervise the activities of maintenance crews, sub-contractors and hired equipment. Your base location will be **Williams Lake or Alexis Creek, BC** and will require some travel throughout our great province.

**WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE**
- Identify work, prioritization, and resource planning to ensure safe and efficient services
- Conduct highway patrols, road and gravel pit inspections in accordance with work procedures
- Assign work to Road Foremen and crews to achieve quality work accomplished in a safe, productive, and environmentally responsible manner
- Perform quality control duties on road maintenance activities, and approve quantities for reporting
- Assist the Operations, Project, Equipment, and Quality Managers with all issues relating to the delivery of quality services and DRM PM Program
- Work closely with the Safety Advisor to ensure all workspaces and personnel operate in accordance with policy and legislative requirements
- Control and monitor operations to ensure they meet schedule, specifications, budget, and environmental responsibility
- Plan and prioritize activities, supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff ensuring that they follow safety requirements, quality standards and report accomplishments keeping track of activity completion
- Work alongside with Operations Manager and HR on selection and hiring of new talent, and follow up on employee performance

WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in management level roles required
- Minimum five (5) years of knowledge and experience in the road maintenance industry required
- Valid Class 3 Driver’s License preferred
- Must maintain driver’s abstract with less than 6demerit points
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, specifically in relation to budgeting and planning.
- Team building skills including proper delegation, motivation, leadership, communication, problem-solving, reliability, and organization skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to complete shift work as required
