Job Title: Healthcare Assistant

**Duties**:

- Provide direct care and assistance to patients in a healthcare setting
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as directed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Maintain a clean and organized environment for patient safety
- PSW certification from a recognized educational institution.
- Experience in providing homemaking and personal support activities, including care of Seniors and Eldercare.
- Possess a compassionate and flexible nature, and a client-centered approach to caregiving.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize safety issues and follow safe work practices.
- Must be able to meet physical demand requirements of the role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Requires good judgment, problem-solving and assessment abilities.
- Ability to travel between assignments by public transportation or by car.
- Weekend availability is a must.
- Knowledge of PCC or POC is a definite asset.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification.

MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED WITH THE COVID-19 VACCINE
- Previous experience in caregiving or healthcare assistance preferred
- Knowledge of medication administration protocols and procedures
- Familiarity with assisted living or nursing home settings
- Ability to provide care for patients with dementia or other cognitive impairments
- Physical stamina to perform tasks that may require heavy lifting or prolonged standing
- Compassionate and patient-oriented approach to patient care
- Ability to work well as part of a team and follow instructions from healthcare professionals

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week

- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)
