**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**Term Groundskeeper**

**LOCATION**:Country Estate 20 minutes West of Calgary

**REPORTING TO**: Estate Manger

12-month term

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
The incumbent will be responsible for the exterior maintenance of approximately ten acres of land, as well as some forested areas. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Ensure adherence to holistic and sustainable practices
- Maintain lawn including mow, trimming, lay sod and fertilizing
- Help with pest and weed management with the use of no pesticide and herbicides
- Operate the following machinery: ride on lawn mowers, push mowers, trimmers and blowers, truck and trailer
- Maintain water features
- Assist with irrigation system
- Assist with planting of annuals and perennials
- Snow and ice removal from walkways and driveways
- Care for ornamental and native trees
- Plant trees and shrubs
- Remove trees, haul away logs and split wood
- Weeding all gardens and areas needed
- Amending soil when needed
- Watering pots, urns and gardens as directed
- Other duties as assigned

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Ability to lift 80 lbs
- Provide own transportation
- Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
- Ability to walk for 8 hours, bend, and perform repetitive motions
- Must be adaptable, flexible, and function effectively in a team environment
- Great communication skills both verbally and written
- Irrigation and mechanical knowledge would be considered an asset
- Possess a strong work ethic
- Occasional weekend and holiday shifts will be required

Pay: $55,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
